Adjust potentiometer VR7 fully clockwise and remove the diode just in front of it.

Frequency Mod

PLL UPD861

1. Remove the unit from its cabinet and pull off the metal cover from the bottom side of the PLL unit.

2. Cut the trace as shown in Figure A using a X-ACTO knife.

3. Mount a DPDT center off switch.

4. Wire the switch as shown in Figure B to the corresponding points shown in Figure A.

5. To use the new channels above and below the band put the selector on channels 23 to 39 for 41 through 55 and channels 24 to 39 in the B position for 26.915MHz through 26.765MHz.

*NOTE: Thus modification works on units using the integrated circuit (PLL) #D861 chip.
Optional frequencies below 26.765 MHz can be obtained by wiring another switch to cut off point B when point A is off.
