Frequency Generation
PLL PLL02A
Frequency Mod

1. Remove the unit from its cabinet and cut the two traces from pin 9 and 10 of the PLL chip as shown in Figure A.

2. Solder a 2700ohm resistor across each cut.

3. Solder a wire to each of the pins (9 and 10) as shown also in Figure A.

4. Drill 1/4" hole near the front of the unit and mount a SPDT center off switch.

5. Solder the wires from the IC to each side of the switch as shown.

6. Solder a wire to the center of the switch and the other end to circuit board ground.

7. To use the channels put the selector on 11 through 27 for channels 40 to 59, and 1 to 40 for channels 60 through 90.

Slider

1. Remove the brown wire from the clarifier (circuit board side) and solder it to the stripped end of diode D5.

2. Cut and remove both D4 and D5 and discard them.

3. Solder a 3300ohm resistor to the unused terminal on the clarifier control and the other end to the cevter of the squetch control as shown in Figure B.

4. Remove the wires from the tone switch, or NB switch, and solder a wire from the center of the switch to the circuit board as shown in Figure C.

5. Solder a 1uh RF choke to the other terminal of the switch to circuit board ground. This switch will now become a range switch for the clarifier. By adjusting capacitor CT-1 a range of +3KHz and -11KHz can be obtained.
