Texas Star DX 299 - DX399 CW Transmitter To AMP Conversion

1. Unsolder the wire (black) from the small key jack on the rear panel.
2. Locate the two standing capacitors (15pf and 33pf) near the relay and RF choke. Unsolder and remove the (green) wire from the tops of the capacitors. Separate and remove the 33pf capacitor leaving the 15pf (C1) in place. Resolder the standing end of the 15pf capacitor to the adjacent pad on the board. This pad also connects to a wire from the rear panel S0239 connector (Radio).
3.

Remove the wire (Red) of the oscillator board from the RF choke (L1) behind the relay.

4.

Remove the yellow .1 100v cap of the oscillator board from the main PCB.

5. Remove the oscillator board.
6. Locate the large orange .01 1KV cap (C25) attached to the trace behind the PWR switch. Unsolder the ground end (closest to the relay). Solder the removed lead to the open trace behind the VAR switch.
